Secretary General of the University of Dschang, Pr Edande Abolo Marthe Isabelle in her New Year speech on behalf of the university community to the Rector, Pr Fomethe. She highlighted the need to encourage hard work and commitment as shown by some deserving staff of various faculties who were promoted to different ranks. Pr Edande Abolo condoled with the University community for the demise some students and staff in 2013 and observed a minute of silence for the reposed souls.
The Secretary General dived into some salient points of growth for the year 2013 in different aspects of the University such as increase in student enrollment, promotion of academic staff. She lauded efforts put in place for better professionalization, as many new disciplines at masters’ level were introduced in various faculties. Some of them include kinotheraphy and Geology in the Faculty of Science, alongside other professional masters programmes. The University also had plunged into profitable partnership, both nationally and internationally. Some of the partnerships signed by the University include, the District Hospital of Dschang, Express Exchange for payment of tuition fee nationwide, South Korea, some Italian Universities just to mention a few.
She showered praises at the University sporting community for making the University proud at the last University games held in Ngoundere and encouraged them to continue with such determination. Her words of appreciation extended to the Cameroon student challenge contingent that occupied the 3rd position at the last competition, while thanking management for their support to the success.
Pr ABOLO in her final words remarked that the success of the university so far has been consistence because of the trust the Head of state, President Paul Biya has in the Rector.
