The ICRC also strives to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening the law and universal humanitarian principles.
The regional delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) for Central Africa is seeking for its needs a candidate for the post below:
Health Field Officer (Man / Woman)
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develops and maintains contacts with authorities/external interlocutors at various levels;
- Attends health cluster meetings and write minutes of meetings;
- Presents the ICRC principles, mandate and activities to interlocutors at the capital level;
- Analyses the socio, economic, political and cultural situation and its humanitarian consequences;
- In charge of health briefing for all staff (mobiles and residents);
- In charge of the compilation of the health activities reports;
- Follows up on the health budget,
- Contributes to the financial institutional reporting on health activities;
- Oversees/monitors the ICRC health support in terms of supplies & financial assistance;
- Supports the SD health teams on ad-hoc bases, if needed;
- Assists the health coordination with operational and administrative tasks;
- Focal point for the health Distribution Tracking System and Medical logistics.
KNOWLEDGE AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOB
- University degree in health, nurse or doctor;
- Master's degree in public health/health fin-administration a strong asset;
- Min 2 years' work experience in similar function;
- Good command of English AND French both written and spoken;
- Good knowledge of Cameroon health system & environment;
- Good assessment and analytical skills;
- Proven communication skills;
- Good computer skills, incl. Microsoft office;
- Absence of external/personal commitments incompatible with a neutral and impartial humanitarian organization;
- No criminal record in Cameroon or in another country;
- Ability to communicate efficiently both orally and in writing;
- Good listening skills and empathy;
- Autonomy and good organizational skills, rigour and honesty;
- Ability to analyze and summarize information;
- Ability to adapt and learn;
- Discretion and absolute respect for confidentiality.
Starting date: As soon as possible
