Main objectives

Under the supervision of the Project Manager and the Logistics Coordinator, he/she must ensure the right material functioning and the management of programme equipment, in compliance with INTERSOS procurement procedures and rules related to programme equipment in order to guarantee safety and security of INTERSOS human resources and equipment.

Main responsibilities

• To look for and identify various opportunities to rent camions and other vehicles
• To manage stock and transportation of Non Food Items (NFI).
• To ensure the securing of the warehouse.
• To manage the procurement cycle linked to warehouses and transports
  • To analyse the local market and update a database of local suppliers compliant with the criteria (quality, price, service and ethics) and needs of INTERSOS and share it with the Logistics Coordinator and the Base Logistics Assistant.
  • To receive NFI sent by camions in INTERSOS warehouses: conformity control, documents (waybill, bill of lading, goods receipt slip…).
  • To manage NFI local transportation: choice of most adequate means of transport and of packaging, planning and follow-up of shippings, and administrative formalities.
• To choose storage locations of commodities/goods and define their management plan.
• To ensure the management of stocks :
  - put in place the tools for the stock management
  - organize periodical inventory
  - manage the commodities/goods flow
• To support and take part in the eventual within the framework of the project in collaboration with the Project Manager, the Logistics Coordinator and the Security Referent.
• To manage the movement of camions:
  • To propose the means of transports that are adequate to the context.
  • To define the rules for the use of camions during the distribution.
  • To implement tracking tools for camions.
• To ensure the implementation of the security rules on project activities:
  • To be continuously updated about the security context analysis and liaise with the Logistics Coordinator and the Project Manager.
  • To distribute the tools (communication, transport…) required to implement the rules that have been set
  • To coordinate security-related activities in liaison with all the other NGOs in the distribution areas.
• To manage the team of warehousemen and camion drivers: security briefing, logistics organization of project and training
• Ensure a correct finance and administration management in his/her area of competence
• To set the forecasted budget related to logistics and follow-up the budget
• To put in place an efficient archiving solution (guidelines, certificates, contracts, instruction manuals) in order to archive in the best possible way, in particular logistics-related documents

• To provide support to the programme in the planning and NFI distribution

Requirements

Education

• Necessary High School and Diploma in Logistics and Transports, supply chain management or all equivalent diplomas

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Logistics/Warehouse role

Language

• Fluent English

Skills

· IT / bureaucratic, general principles of automotive mechanics,

Basic knowledge of clearance of goods and transports, knowledge of telecommunication materials, general principles of stock management, knowledge of logistics issues related to humanitarian context
