RECRUITMENT NOTICE OF: (01) Hotline Clerk

Contract duration: CDD 03 (three) months

Job Title:

Hotline Clerk

Reports to:

GBV Specialist

Missions and Responsibilities:

  • Provide psychological first aid to the callers who request for on phone crisis intervention counseling.
  • Establishing rapport and encouraging the callers to provide the necessary details of the case to facilitate follow up.
  • Assessing human service requirements via phone using crisis intervention and active listening skills.
  • Searching computer database to provide appropriate social service provider referrals.
  • Maintaining appropriate callers' documentation and sharing on daily basis (immediately for high risk urgent cases) with the GBV specialist for referral to the appropriate services.
  • Acting as an actively contributing team member and supporting the mission and work of the organization.
  • Participate in networking efforts by attending the relevant trainings, workshops and meetings or visiting other agencies.
  • Developing effective working relations within the organization.
  • Any other tasks that maybe assigned by the supervisor

Competences

  • Bachelor's degree in counseling, social work, or other social sciences in a related field.
  • Experience in various Social Service activities.

Technical and behavioral competencies required

  • Ability to handle various types of calls.
  • Ability to manage well with individuals of different backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate intelligibly in person as well as over the telephone
  • Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)
  • Respect and non-discriminatory attitude, empathy
  • Reporting skills
  • Capacity to work under pressure

Languages

  • English and Pidgin

Duty station

  • Buea
