University of Leeds is inviting applications for Leeds anniversary research scholarships. There are 128 fully funded places for 2016 entry, available across all disciplines. Successful applicants will receive payment to cover their University tuition fees up to three years, along with a maintenance grant matching the Research Council UK rate (£14,057 for session 2015/16). The application deadlines are- Arts; Biological Sciences; Business; Engineering; Mathematical & Physical Sciences; Medicine & Health: 15 January 2016, Education, Social Sciences & Law; Environment: 11 March 2016 and Performance, Visual Arts & Communications: 1 June 2016.

Eligibility: To be considered for a University of Leeds Anniversary Research Scholarship you must meet the following criteria. To be eligible you must:

  • be a UK/EU or International fee paying applicant
  • have achieved at least an upper second class (2:1) honours degree at undergraduate level
  • meet the English language requirements of your programme of study if English is not your first language (UK/EU applicants – prior to or at registration; international applicants – by the relevant scholarship deadline)
  • not have already been awarded or are currently studying for a doctoral degree
  • not already be in receipt of a doctoral scholarship
  • have submitted a research degree application form and be in receipt of a student ID number

Scholarship Open for International Students: UK/EU or International students can apply for these scholarships.

Scholarship Description: The University of Leeds is accepting applications for our Anniversary Research Scholarships. There are 128 fully funded places for 2016 entry, available across all disciplines. Outstanding scholars from any discipline are invited to apply for the funding. To be considered for one of our scholarships you must meet the eligibility criteria and submit a scholarship application form by the relevant deadline.

What does it cover? Successful applicants will receive payment to cover their University tuition fees up to three years, along with a maintenance grant matching the Research Council UK rate (£14,057 for session 2015/16).

Notification: Applicants can expect to be notified of the outcome of their application approximately 6 weeks after the relevant closing date.

How to Apply: -Applicants must complete all sections of the application form, with strict observation of any word limits. Please do not include any other documents with the form, such as transcripts or CVs, as they will be disregarded.

  • Completed forms (must be typed) should be returned in either Word or pdf format by email to pg_scholarships-at-leeds.ac.uk.
  • To track the progress of your application, please visit http://scholarships.leeds.ac.uk and select the tab ‘Application Tracking', then follow the instructions on screen (this facility will not be available until late January 2016). Please note that, due to the large volume of applications, the Postgraduate Scholarships Office will not enter into any correspondence regarding the progress of an application.
