Newcastle University is offering overseas research scholarship in 2016-17 academic year. The scholarship is available for research program.

Newcastle University's aim is to be a world-class research-intensive university and deliver teaching and facilitate learning of the highest quality.

The university is governed by a number of statutory bodies. The Executive Board comprises the senior management team that has oversight of the day-to-day running of the University.

Applicants have been assessed as international/overseas for fees purposes, and are wholly or partially self-financing. Applicants need a good level of English language to study at Newcastle University. They'll need to provide a recognised English language test or qualification unless you're exempt. This is usually a test score of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, but requirements can vary between IELTS 6.0 to 8.0. All students need at least 5.5 in each sub-skill, or equivalent.

Study Subject(s): Scholarships are provided to learn any of the courses offered by the Newcastle University.

Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD research programme at Newcastle University.

Scholarship Award: Each award (value approximately £7,500 to £11,500 per annum) covers the difference between fees for UK/EU students and international students.

Eligibility: Applicants could be eligible to apply for a NUORS award if:

  • Applicants have been offered a place on a PhD research programme
  • Applicants have been assessed as international/overseas for fees purposes, and are wholly or partially self-financing
  • Applicants intend to register to start your studies during the 2016/17 academic year.
  • Applications for a NUORS award cannot be made for a course that has already been started by a student.

Nationality: International students can apply for these scholarships.

English Language Requirements: Applicants need a good level of English language to study at Newcastle University. Applicants'll need to provide a recognised English language test or qualification unless you're exempt. This is usually a test score of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, but requirements can vary between IELTS 6.0 to 8.0. All students need at least 5.5 in each sub-skill, or equivalent.

Supporting Material: When applicants submit their application, you should include copies of certificates or transcripts to confirm your degree or highest qualification. If any of your documents are in another language you will need to supply certified English language translations. If you are from outside the EU, you will also need to include a copy of the personal details page from your passport.

How to Apply: The mode of applying is electronically. Must have already applied for and been offered a place to study at Newcastle University before you apply for a NUORS award. Please complete the NUORS application form? electronically and in accordance with the NUORS regulations, which are provided at the end of the application form. You will also be required to provide details of an academic referee; the University will then contact your referee directly. Applications must be submitted electronically via the email address provided below. Unfortunately paper copies cannot be accepted.
