The Minister of Higher Education announces to prospective and interested candidates at both the undergraduate levels, that the Islamic University of Technology (IUT) Dhaka, Bangladesh, the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC) is offering a number of scholarships for the 2014-2015 academic year which commences from 05 January 2015. The offers one in the following
fields:
II- Postgraduate Programmes in Engineering
a) Doctor of philosophy in:
i) Mechanical Engineering,
ii) Electrical and Electronic Engineering;
iii) Computer Science and Engineering.
b) Master of Science in (normally one and a half year programme)
i) Mechanical Engineering;
ii) Electrical and Electronic Engineering;
iii) Computer Science and Applications;
iv) Computer Science and Engineering;
v) Civil Engineering
c) Master of Engineering (normally one and a half year programme) in
i) Mechanical Engineering;
ii) Electrical and Electronic Engineering;
iii) Computer Science and Engineering;
iv) Civil Engineering.
II -Technical Education Programmes:
a) Master of Science in Technical Education (1 to 2 year programme depending on the background of the candidate).
b) Post graduate Diploma in Technical Education (1 year programme).
c) Bachelor of Science in Technical Education (1 to 2 year programme depending on the background of the candidate.
d) Diploma in Technical Education (1 year programme).
III - Bachelor of Science (4 year programmes) in:
i) Mechanical Engineering;
ii) Electrical and Electronic Engineering;
iii) Computer Science and Engineering;
iv) Civil Engineering.
IV - Higher Diploma (3 year programme) in:
i) Mechanical Engineering;
ii) Electrical and Electronic Engineering;
iii) Computer Science and Engineering.
To be eligible vou must be :
- Of Cameroonian nationality ;
- Physically and mentally fit to pursue studies abroad ;
- Must be English speaking or if English is not your language of instruction, show proof of proficiency in the English language by passing the TOEFl or IELTS Tests.
Candidates for Master's Programmes in Engineering will be selected in order of me rit on the basis of marks obtained in B.SC. Engineering from IUT or an equivalent institution. Candidates for M.Sc in Computer Science and Applications must have B.Sc Engineering degree or 4 years B.sc degree or its equivalent with sufficient back-ground of Mathematics and Computer.
Other requirements include :
- A stamped handwritten application addressed to the Minister of Higher Education;
- A certified copy of birth certificate not older than 6 months;
- A certificate of nationality ;
- High school transcripts of undergraduate studies ;
- A duly filled application form obtainable from room 1514 or 1510, Ministry of Higher Education;
- Certified copies of academic certificates from G.C.E O/l or Probatoire to the highest qualification obtained;
- University transcripts for those applying for postgraduate studies and 2nde, 1ère, Tle or form five, lower and upper sixth transcripts for those applying for undergraduate studies ;
- 4 recent colour passport size photographs, bearing the name and nationality of the candidate behind ;
- 2 photocopies of passport or national identity card ;
- An A4 enveloppe ;
- 1 cerificate of non-conviction ;
- Medical fitness certificate including chest X-ray and routine examination of blood, urine, stool and contagious and communicable diseases such as tuberculosis, AIDS, HIV, hepatitis B, venerai diseases, etc.
