University of British Columbia is offering college awards to students beginning their undergraduate studies at UBC in the Vantage One Program at UBC Vantage College. Three types of awards are available: entrance awards include full cost of the student's first year tuition, excellence awards cover full cost of the student's academic program and living costs and outstanding student up to $6,000 to outstanding UBC Vantage College students. The awards are made primarily on the basis of academic excellence but financial need will also be taken into account. The application deadline is March 31 2016.

Scholarship Open for International Students: International students can apply for these college awards.
Scholarship Description: UBC Vantage College awards assist students in making the transition from secondary school to university. The purpose of this program is to financially support academically qualified students who show an interest in joining and contributing to the UBC community, but who would not otherwise be able to attend without significant financial assistance. This program offers entering students a variety of single year and renewable.
UBC Vantage College Outstanding Student Award: UBC Vantage College offers multiple awards up to $6,000 to outstanding UBC Vantage College students enrolled in the Vantage One Program. The award is made primarily on the basis of academic excellence. All applicants to UBC Vantage College are automatically considered for this award. Please note that this award is non-renewable.
UBC Vantage College Entrance Award: Awards ranging in value up to the full cost of the student's first year tuition are offered to students beginning their undergraduate studies at UBC in the Vantage One Program at UBC Vantage College. The awards will be granted on the basis of academic merit; financial need will also be taken into account. The award is non-renewable and is made on the recommendation of UBC Vantage College.
UBC Vantage College Excellence Awards: Awards ranging in value up to the full cost of the student's academic program and living costs are offered to students beginning their undergraduate studies at UBC in the UBC Vantage One Program. The value of each award is dependent on the recipient's financial need. The awards will be renewed for up to three additional years or to degree completion, whichever is less, provided the recipient maintains their status as an international student in Canada. Awards winners will have their awards reviewed annually to assess and update academic progress and financial need. The awards will be granted on the basis of academic merit; financial need will also be taken into account. The award is made on the recommendation of UBC Vantage College in consultation with the UBC International Student Initiative.

The Excellence Awards will be renewed for up to three additional years or to degree completion, whichever is less, provided the recipient maintains their status as an international student in Canada. Selection Criteria: The outstanding student award is made primarily on the basis of academic excellence. The entrance award and excellence awards are made primarily on the basis of academic excellence but financial need will also be taken into account.
Notification: University will confirm receipt of application on or before February 13th, 2016 and student will be known by June 1st, 2016 if they receive one of the awards.
How to Apply: All applicants to UBC Vantage College are automatically considered for outstanding student award. For the Entrance and Excellence Awards, applicants must complete an application form by mail or courier, and also send scanned copies by email.
