Sightsavers has set two ambitious, but achievable, goals to fast track the elimination of two neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) that are two of the leading causes of preventable blindness amongst the communities we work with in Africa and Asia - onchocerciasis and trachoma. In recognition of the growth and importance of this work, we have set up a new department and are now looking for exceptional candidates based in Africa to help us achieve our goals.
The Country NTD Managers will lead on programmatic management for the implementation of the trachoma and onchocerciasis FTIs and on integration of mass drug administration against NTDs. Under the management of the relevant Country Director, responsibilities will also include delivery of NTD programme targets, provision of programme management guidance and direct technical support to build the development of integrated NTD programmes and advocacy for the elimination of NTDs on a national basis.
