A.       Scope

The Senior Commercial Executive will collaborate with the Commercial Director to identify and pursue new opportunities for business development and ensure the commercial success of the airline. Working with the sales, marketing and revenue management teams as well the executive team to develop and drive the Company’s long and short term revenue growth strategies.

B.      The Role

  • The Senior Commercial Executive will assist the Commercial Director to oversee the overall functioning of the Commercial department.
  • Ensure that the desired strategies are successfully accomplished by managing and directing the sales, marketing and revenue management team.
  • Create a strong business relationship with the sales, marketing and revenue management team of the Company to identify and pursue the scopes for business development.
  • Responsible to maintain the effective coordination with the sales, marketing, revenue management team to make it function smoothly.
  • Responsible for the planning and executing of both short and long term revenue deriving strategies of the Company.
  • Successfully handle the both short and long-term commercial ventures.
  • Lead negotiations with customer on commercial and contractual matters, achieving timely agreement in a non-adversarial manner
  • Carry out commercial appraisals on tenders and input to tender strategies
  • Provide support to the negotiation and agreement of subcontract arrangement to minimise risk and maximise the advantage to the business
  • Supervise the development and management of relationships with key customers to ensure the effective management of business agreements and contracts. This extends to identifying future opportunities with key customers to ensure the client is well positioned for repeat business.

  • Experience in airline network planning and scheduling
  • Experience in airline pricing and revenue management
  • Knowledge of the most common CRS, pricing and revenue management tools is an advantage
  • Knowledge of customer needs in the region as well as in overseas markets

E.      Qualifications / Experience

  • University Degree in marketing, sales or business administration, or a relevant post graduate qualification
  • At least 10 years’ experience in airline marketing and sales division at managerial level
  • Experience in development of a marketing and sales strategy at an airline 
  • Demonstrated skills and knowledge on travel distribution channels
  • Experience in airline network planning and scheduling
  • Experience in airline pricing and revenue management
  • Knowledge of the most common CRS, pricing and revenue management tools is an advantage
  • Knowledge of customer needs in the region as well as in overseas markets
