American Schools of Oriental Research is offering international fellowship for research programme. This Fellowship is primarily intended to support field/research on ancient Mesopotamian civilization carried out in the Middle East, but other projects such as travel to work on museum collections or archives related to ancient Mesopotamia will also be considered. The Mesopotamian Fellowship provides support in the amount of $9,000 for a period of research lasting three months to a year. Electronic application will be submitted by December 1, 2013 for 2014/2015 fellowships.

Eligibility: Pre-doctoral students and post-doctoral scholars from any country are invited to apply. Applicants must be affiliated with an institution that is a corporate member of ASOR or must obtain individual membership in ASOR.

Scholarship Open for Students of Following Countries: International applicants are eligible for this fellowship.

Scholarship Description: This Fellowship is primarily intended to support field/research on ancient Mesopotamian civilization carried out in the Middle East, but other projects such as travel to work on museum collections or archives related to ancient Mesopotamia will also be considered. The Mesopotamian Fellowship is based on a July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014 fiscal year. A recipient who does not use the fellowship for at least three months must forfeit part of the fellowship and return a prorated amount of the stipend. Fellowship time should be continuous, without frequent trips outside the Middle East.

How to Apply: Applications consist of a cover sheet and a short proposal. Applicants should provide three recommendations. Applicants should submit their proposals as a .doc or .pdf attachment to asor-at-bu.edu and ask recommenders to do the same with their letters. Applicants or recommenders who are unable to submit proposals or letters by email may send them by post.

Scholarship Application Deadline: The deadline for 2014/2015 fellowships will be December 1, 2013.
